SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - It was a good day for the women's tennis team as they defeated Lake Superior State 5-2 for their first GLIAC win of the season.
The Lakers could not field a complete roster of six players and therefore had to concede the third doubles and six singles matches. That being said,
Adeline Nelson and
Willemien Coetzee won 6-2 at one doubles and coupled with a win at three doubles meant that Davenport took a point.
Danica Malan at three singles went three sets before winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 over Muskaan Ranjan.
Vladislava Shumilova at four singles won easily 6-2, 6-0 over Riley Gilman.
Sophie Gossett also won at five singles over Madelin Harrod (6-1, 6-0).
