NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Davenport got back on the horse today and swept the Cavaliers to go 2-2 during their trip to Ohio. The Panthers won big in game one by 11 runs and then held off Walsh in game two to win 7-6. Both
Mallory Teunissen and
Ellie Muilenburg earned wins today.
Alexa Flores and
Alexis Koza had one home run each on the day. Flores hit a three-run homer and then Koza hit a grand slam, both in game one. The Panthers are currently 15-6 in non-conference play and have only two more non-conference games left this season.

Davenport wasted no time scoring against Walsh. The Panther barrel's drove in five runs during the first inning and four in the third.
Selene Pauley, French, Flores, Jewell, and Hutchison all scored in the first inning. The runs scored in the third and fifth were results of two home runs. Koza hit a grand slam in the third, which scored
Briana Allen, Hutchison, Jewell and herself. Then in the fifth inning Flores hit a three-run homer that scored French,
McKenzie Rowe, and herself. Teunissen only gave up two hits and one earned run during her four innings on the mound. Nyenhuis got her first action on the mound, pitching all three outs of the fifth inning.

The Panthers were up big heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, but then had to weather multiple runs by the Cavaliers to hold their lead. Davenport led 7-2 before the Cavaliers scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it a one run game down the stretch. In the second inning Allen drove in the initial run for DU, she hit a singled to left field that scored Griffin. Davenport exploded for four runs in the fourth inning. Koza hit a single to score Jewell, Allen then hit a single to score Koza, then later in the inning Pauley hit a single to center field to score
Kennedy Crawford and
Morgan Austin. The Panthers added two more runs in the fifth inning, which proved to be the game-winning runs. Griffin hit a single to center field that score Jewell and Flores. Teunissen earned the save by throwing two scoreless innings.

Davenport opens up conference play next week at home. The Panthers host Northwood on Wednesday and then Saginaw Valley State on Saturday.
