GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport football team will be making the long trip of 421 miles to the Superior Dome in Marquette on Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff against Northern Michigan University. The two teams will be playing for the first time and it is the homecoming contest for the Wildcats. Davenport and Northern Michigan are both looking to break into the win column for the first time in 2017. The matchup to watch will be Davenport's offense against Northern Michigan's defense. The Panthers are averaging 150.3 yards of total offense per game (last in the GLIAC) while the Northern Michigan defense is allowing 648.5 yards per game (last in the GLIAC). The contrast between the two will be interesting to watch.
