ADRIAN, Mich. – Davenport added two more wins to their season total after sweeping Siena Heights today. The Panthers shut out the Saints in the first game 8-0 and took a 10-3 win in the second game. The pitching staff for Davenport was stellar, as the Saints only scored three runs over the two games. After the two conference wins, Davenport remains in second place and only a half-game back from first place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. DU will host first place Madonna in a key doubleheader on Wednesday at home beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Davenport, unlike yesterday, scored their runs throughout the game. The Panthers scored in four of the seven innings and held the Saints scoreless. Davenport recorded their first run in the top of the third inning after
Alexa Flores hit a sac fly to left field that scored Brambila. The Panthers scored three runs in the third inning and three runs in the fifth inning to take a seven-run lead into the bottom of the fifth.

The Panthers carried over their consistent play scoring in five of the seven innings during game two. This time Davenport got on the board quickly, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. Brambila hit a single that scored both Rowe and French with no outs. Teunissen had the Saints number as she struck out eight batters during the seven innings. Allen had three doubles on the day (a new school record) that scored three runs and French did a little of everything. She went 2-for-2, scored twice, recorded an RBI, was walked, hit a double, hit a sac fly and stole a base.

Davenport competes against two conference teams this upcoming week. They host Madonna on Wednesday for a doubleheader that starts at 3:30 p.m. and travel to Northwestern Ohio on Saturday for a doubleheader that starts at 1 p.m.
