Davenport places second during tournament

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Saturday's tournament was the last tournament Davenport will host in the 2017 season. The Panthers played five best-of-three matches, only falling to Saint Louis in the finals.
 
Davenport vs. Michigan State University (Posse): 25-8, 25-12
The first match of the day was against Michigan State. The Panthers had 31 kills, five errors, from 54 attempts, a .481 hitting percentage, 21 digs, and eight total blocks.

Match number two was against Washtenaw. They had total of 32 kills, three errors, from 57 attempts, with a .509 hitting percentage, six service aces, and 21 digs.

Davenport vs. University of Illinois Chicago: 25-13, 25-22
In the final match of pool play the Panthers played UIC. The Panthers gathered 28 kills, four errors, from 57 attempts, with a .421 hitting percentage, and 17 digs.

Davenport vs. Lincoln College: 25-14, 25-17
The Panthers semi-final match was a rematch against Lincoln College, who DU played the night before. Davenport ended the match with 28 kills, six errors, from 66 attempts, had a .333 hitting percentage, 27 digs, and five total blocks.

Davenport vs. Saint Louis: 16-25, 19-25
The finals match was Davenport's only loss of the day, they fell to Saint Louis in two sets. Altogether, the Panthers had 25 kills, six errors, from 68 attempts, a .279 hitting percentage, and gathered 19 digs.

Throughout the day the Panthers accumulated: 144 kills, 24 errors, from 302 attempts, which made for an impressive .397 hitting percentage. They compiled 129 assists (97 from setter Croft), 105 digs, and 20 total blocks.

Before the finals started, the all-tournament team was announced. It was composed of six players from four different teams picked by the coaches:
