AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Davenport baseball team got a big win on Tuesday afternoon with an 8-3 victory over previously unbeaten Southeastern (16-1) at Lake Myrtle Park. The Panthers (11-5) picked up their third in a row and found themselves down 2-0 before coming back for the five-run margin.
Justin Palmbos shook off a rough start in his first outing with the team by going six innings and allowing five hits to get the win (1-1).
Jonathan Cheshire threw the final three innings to earn his fourth save of the season and struck out four.
Oscar Heredia and
Brandon Larkin-Guilfoyle each had a double, homer and two RBI in the three and four spots in the lineup.
Jeremy Vasquez extended his hitting streak to six games going 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.
