ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The sixth-ranked Davenport Panthers pulled out a 71-63 win at Concordia (Mich.) in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night. The Panthers improved to 23-2 overall and 17-0 in the league behind a double-double from senior
Molly Babbs. She scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Her 18 points were the highest total in a double-double for her this season. She played a season-high 34 minutes with two steals and one assist.
Davenport won for the 11th straight time against the Cardinals but it was the closest margin of victory during the win streak. DU is now 31-2 in the all-time series against Concordia. Senior
Chri Carter got to the free throw line a season-high 13 times and scored 10 of her 14 points at the charity stripe. She also grabbed eight rebounds and had two steals in 23 minutes. Junior
Emily Severn scored 12 points to go with four rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes.
Davenport finished 24-of-59 from the floor and 20-of-25 at the foul line. Concordia finished 22-of-65 from the floor and 13-of-17 at the foul line. The Panthers outrebounded their opponent for the seventh straight game by a 48-38 margin including 16 offensive rebounds. The game featured five ties and eight lead changes and DU trailed by seven points in the second quarter for their largest deficit. DU also led by as many as 15 points which came with 5:47 left in the fourth quarter.
