BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers embarked on their third straight road game and couldn't score enough goals to garner a victory. Ferris State scored four goals during the game and pounded 10 shots on goal over 90 minutes of play. Davenport had similar scoring opportunities throughout the game, tallying eight shots on goal. However, the Panthers couldn't convert on enough of those shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ferris State scored the initial goal of the game during minute 17 from a shot inside the box. Seconds later the Bulldogs scored another goal, from the same Ferris State player, to take an early two goal lead. Davenport settled down and kept Ferris State off the board for the rest of the half.
Alayna Hilgendorf got the Panthers back into the game during the beginning of the second half. Hilgendorf beat a defender into the box for a shot and goal during the 49
th minute. The Bulldogs wiped out the momentum DU was gaining following the Hilgendorf goal by scoring during the 51
st minute. The goal gave Ferris State a two goal lead with 40 minutes in the game. Hilgendorf,
Roheema Bennett and
Alice Linsell all got a shot on goal during the remaining 40 minutes, none of which could find the back of the net. Ferris State added a security goal during the 86
th minute.

The Panthers will need to have short term memory following the loss to Ferris State, as they travel to Allendale, Michigan on Sunday to take on the number four team in the country. Davenport will be Grand Valley State on October 15
th, with a kickoff time of 1:00 p.m.
