Cassandra Bosworth followed with her first career goal in the ninth minute.
The Panthers would take this momentum to a convincing season-opening victory as they would go on to outshoot the Celtics 19-to-5 for the match. DU added to its lead in the first half as
Sabrina Stone and
Halie Farrell each tallied a goal to give the Panthers a 4-0 half time edge.
The DU defense helped secure the shutout win in the second half as they did not allow a shot from Carlow while
Katherine Steiner added an insurance goal for the Panthers in the 76
th minute. The Panthers advanced to 1-0 following their 5-0 win over Carlow in the first-ever meeting between the schools. Freshman goal keeper
Regan Troff (1-0) recorded the victory in goal for DU as she recorded one save in 90 minutes of action.
