Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with a 15-1 record after a 32-9 home win over Central Michigan in a CCLA matchup on Sunday night.
The Panthers set a season-high in goals and never were threatened by the Chippewas who have won just once this season in 10 games. Davenport scored nine goals in the first period to lead 9-1. That lead moved to 19-4 at halftime and then 27-7 after three quarters.
Davenport took 50 shots with 42 on net compared to 20 shots with 11 on net for Central Michigan. The face-off circle was dominated by Davenport 30-of-43 times. Central Michigan committed 31 turnovers and the Panthers caused 20 of those miscues.
Ryan Hartnagel caused five turnovers to lead the team.
Jimmy DeJaeger won 14-of-17 face-offs in the first half alone and collected six ground balls. The Panthers totaled 52 ground balls led by nine from
Nick Mulcahy.
Bryan Larocque scored 11 goals and assisted on two more. He currently has 94 this season to extend his single-season record.
Jarred Riley had a 7-7 in goals and assists with 10 shots on goal.
Devon Benson scored three goals and assisted on three others. He also had six ground balls and caused four turnovers.
Jimmy Fata scored four goals and collected five ground balls.
Joe Lopez won 9-of-13 face-offs and assisted on two goals.
Logan Poe made two saves and has won all 15 games this season in net.
Paul Schalau scored and assisted on six goals.
