BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team picked up their second straight win over a NCAA Division II opponent and their fifth straight win overall with a 5-4 victory at Ferris State.
The Panthers improve to 16-5 overall and defeated a Bulldog team with a 15-9 record and ranked ninth in their region. Davenport won two of three in doubles including a 9-7 win at one doubles for
Alyssa Fuentes and
Puck Luttikhuis.
Anne Douwes and
Steph Ritson also won 8-4 at two doubles.
Hannah Murphy and
Emily Spiech lost 9-8 at three doubles.
Fuentes and Luttikhuis each won in singles as Fuentes claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at one singles. Luttikhuis needed three sets dropping the first before winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at two singles. Ritson at the three spot won 6-4, 6-4.
