Panthers Control UM-Dearborn in 96-44 Home Win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Panthers started off hot Wednesday night as they controlled Michigan-Dearborn from the opening tip to secure a 96-44 win. DU advanced to 19-5, 15-2 on the season following a balanced performance that saw the Panthers shoot 52.9% from the floor while their defense forced 27 turnovers. Hannah Wilkerson led the attack for DU as she recorded a career-high 14 points on a 6-for-6 performance from the field.

The Panthers would hold the edge over the Wolverines early and would put the pressure on the UM-Dearborn as they took a 6-0 run to end the first quarter and take a 24-10 lead. Kendra Cook made her presence felt inside as she would record 10 points in the first half as a part of a Panther offense that totaled 51 points at the break. Lauren Brower led all scorers at the half with 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting from behind the arc.

The second half saw DU extend its lead to as many as 58 points. The Panthers would blow the game wide open with a 16-0 run that saw DU take the game from a 66-34 score to an 82-34 advantage over a 5:30 minute stretch. Momo Neal would help fuel the Panther offense all night as she totaled a career-high 10 assists while she also recorded eight points and a career-high four steals. Michaela Faber added to the consistent Panther offense as she recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.

DU would control the game in the inside as they outscored Dearborn in the paint 50-10 for the game while they also outrebounded the Wolverines 50-22. Cook went on to finish with 14 points and seven rebounds. Amanda Merz added a solid all-around day that saw her total eight points while she also recorded a career-high four steals.
