GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Panthers took conference rival Cornerstone to five sets earlier tonight during a heated match.
Krissy Dill and
Sami White both set career highs for a single match. Dill tallied 26 kills during the match, her previous career high for a match was 25. White notched 48 assists, which shattered her previous record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 25-15, 27-29, 25-20, 23-25, 10-15
-The first set saw the Panthers come out aggressive and in charge as they took it to Cornerstone on their home court with a 25-15 victory. DU would win ten of 13 points during the middle of the set to pull away.
-The second set went into extra points as Cornerstone won 29-27. The game would go back and forth for 13 points at the end of the match until Cornerstone would win two points back to back at the very end.
-The Panthers came back in the third set and won 25-20. Davenport would fall behind early 0-5, then
Kasey Stehouwer would serve for four straight points and tied it up at 5-5. Stehouwer would serve for another four straight points later on in the set.
-Cornerstone would squeak out a win in the fourth set, 25-23, and force the match to go into a fifth set.
-Davenport would fall behind early in the final set, 4-11, and were unable to come back.
-Dill led DU with 26 kills, all of which came in the first four sets.
-White was the leader in assists with 48.
-Both Dill and White notched double doubles on the night.

The Panthers get some time to prepare for their next matchup as they don't play until the 19
th. Davenport will host conference opponent Siena Heights at 7 p.m. next Wednesday in the DU Student Center.
