DU Starts Things Off at UNOH Racer Classic
LIMA, Ohio – The Davenport University bowling teams kicked off their 2015-2016 season this past weekend at the UNOH Racer Classic hosted at Westgate Lanes. The men's team finished with the third-highest pinfall of the two-day event (5,551) trailing Urbana and Notre Dame College. The Panthers had the best score in the sixth game of the tournament posting 1,036 pins. The team averaged 161 in the first Baker set and then improved to 248 in the second Baker set.
Dionte Johnson paced the Panthers on the lanes with a 206.17 average which ranked fourth in the field. Johnson rolled a 254 in game three for his best showing.
Ryan O'Rourke averaged 201.25 in the four games that he bowled. His best score was 246 in the sixth game.
Sean Taylor averaged 196.83 in six games during the event. He rolled three straight 200-plus games to end the tournament.
Adam Batliner averaged 183 in six games for the competition and had his best game of 227 in game one.
The women's team finished ninth out of 11 schools with a total pinfall of 4,708. The Panthers rolled their best team game in game two with a 918.
Olivia Clark had the top average for Davenport rolling a 167 over six games. Clark bowled a high of 186 in game five and also had a 183 in game one. Jazzman Esparza averaged 165.33 in six games for DU. She posted a high of 197 in game three.
Taylor Rickard averaged 161.66 for six games and topped out at 199 in game two.
Sidney Adams rolled four games and averaged 156.25.
