GEORGETOWN, Ky. – In the final game of the weekend trip to Georgetown, Ky., for the second-ranked Davenport women's lacrosse team, the Lady Panthers faced No. 1 Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.). Taylor Balch scored three goals and had a pair of assists, but Davenport lost to SCAD, 14-9. The Panthers will return to WHAC action this week as they travel to Adrian, Mich., to face Siena Heights on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
 
Balch recorded her third straight hat-trick with three goals and two assists against the Bees, while Kaitlyn Lowden tallied her 200th career point as she scored three goals in the game and now has 202 points in her career at Davenport. Jessica Lemcke scored two goals in the game, while Brooke Knoll tallied one goal and one assist.
 
The Panthers started the game scoring the first two goals of the game in the first 3:15 of the game to take a 2-0 lead, but SCAD was able to counter scoring two goals in the less than a minute to tie the game 2-2, with 22:47 left in the first half. After Balch regained the lead for the Panthers, the Bees went on a 5-0 run to take a 7-3 lead with 5:08 left in the first half, but Lemcke closed the half scoring her second goal of the game as SCAD led 7-4 at the half.
 
The second half started the same way as the first, as Davenport scored the first two goals followed by a pair of goals by SCAD, as the Bees led 9-6 with 19:47 left in regulation. Teams alternated goals, as the Panthers cut the lead to 10-8, but SCAD went on 4-0 run to take a 14-8 lead with 4:50 left in the game. Davenport capped off the scoring in the game, as Balch scored her third goal of the game, but the Panthers lost to SCAD, 14-9.
 
Davenport will return to action on Wednesday night when they continue their road slate in Adrian, Mich., to face Siena Heights at 7 p.m.
