Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's Division I hockey team entered tonight's game ranked No. 2 and ran into a buzzsaw against No. 8 Adrian. Adrian opened the scoring in the first with a sneaky rebound goal scored by Nicholas Balavich. Minutes later Davenport's
Kody Polin tied it up with a quick snap shot, assisted by
Everett Thompson, over Adrian's goalies shoulder. Later in the period Davenport took a five-minute major penalty and were scored on twice in the duration of the penalty kill. At the end of the first period Adrian led it 3-1.
Adrian dominated the second period by scoring three goals and took a commanding lead of 6-1. In the start of the third both teams were moving the puck well. The red hot Adrian Bulldogs got two goals in the third period to finalize their 8-1 win. Both teams were getting good shots off and making good defensive plays during the period. After their first goal in the first period, Davenport couldn't manage to get another by Adrian's goalie.
