GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport picked up an opening round sweep of cross-town Cornerstone University to advance to the NAIA Unaffiliated Group semifinal round on Saturday where they will meet either Aquinas or Indiana Tech. It is the third win over the Golden Eagles this season and DU has not dropped a single match in any of the three as they improve to 20-4 on the season. Davenport will also take a 17-match winning streak into Saturday's play on their home courts.

Davenport made quick work of their opening round match vs. Cornerstone as they took No. 1 doubles (8-1) from Emily Spiech and Alyssa Fuentes and No. 2 doubles (8-4) from Puck Luttikhuis and Marcie Kooyers. DU also grabbed the third doubles via forfeit.

In singles, DU got a forfeit from No. 6 and then Luttikhuis closed out the win with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Angelica Woods and Montserrat Elizondo were on the court but did not need to finish their matches after the fifth point was taken.

The Panthers, who are ranked No.17 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll, will face Aquinas College or Indiana Tech in one of two semifinal contests on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Davenport's Farmers Athletic Complex with the title match set for 5 p.m.
