GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport will play four matches in the next three days and they got it started with a 9-0 win over cross-town foe Calvin College on Thursday evening. The win lifts the Panthers, who are ranked No. 20 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll, to 10-4 in dual matches and they now will host Cardinal Stritch Friday followed by Marian and St. Francis on Saturday.

Using a few different doubles lineups, head coach Patrick Grashorn saw his team pick up three relatively quick wins to go up 3-0. Christian Woods teamed up with Jordan Parker to win 8-0 at No. 1 while DU also got victories from Juan-Philip van Antwerpen and Sam Rogerson (8-1 at No. 2) as well as Kevin Slagh and Haja Denise (8-5 at No. 3).

Turning to singles, five of the six doubles players all posted wins and they all came in straight sets with Sam Rogerson winning with the most convincing score (6-0, 6-0 over Tom Griffin). Zac Chambers was the only new player in singles for coach Grashorn as he won at No. 5 over Anthony Vroon; 6-1, 6-0.
