Panthers Will Close Regular Season Play With Three-Game Week

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A busy week lies ahead for the Davenport D3 hockey team as three games are on tap for the regular-season finale starting with a makeup game with Adrian-Gold Wednesday at 8:20 p.m. Following their contest with the Bulldogs, the Panthers will turn their attention to a home-and-home series with fellow Beltline school Calvin. The series begins Eagles Ice Center at 8 p.m. before shifting over to Patterson Ice Center Saturday at 7:20 p.m.

Scouting Adrian - Gold
Adrian-Gold fell short to Michigan-Flint on Sunday in a close 4-3 game that almost found its way into overtime. The Bulldogs carry a 6-3-0-2 record in MCHC play despite their loss to UM-Flint. Myles Maltz has scored 15 of the Bulldogs 97 goals on the year.
 
It has been awhile since the Panthers and Bulldogs have met on the ice, with their last meeting dating back to October. The Panthers comeback attempt came up short as Adrian-Gold held on to win 6-4. Donald Sund led the effort for DU with a pair of goals.
 
Scouting Calvin
Calvin improved their record to 7-5-0-0 in conference play after beating Michigan State 7-4 last Saturday, highlighted by three-goal first period. Cameron Bell is an offensive leader for the Knights, netting 17 goals and notching 16 assists for 33 points.

Scouting Davenport
The Panthers improved their record to 22-5-0-1 overall, 9-2-0-1 in MCHC after sweeping Hope in a two-game battle for top of the conference's west standings last weekend. Davenport controlled game one with a 5-2 victory at Patterson Ice Center and pulled out a 4-1 win at the Flying Dutchmen's home ice 24 hours later.
