GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport, on top of the conference after the first week of league action, will play six more games within the WHAC starting Wednesday when they host Cornerstone University at 4 p.m. The Golden Eagles, who have the best overall winning percentage in the conference at .875, are just one game back of the Panthers in the regular season standings and are tied for second with Madonna, whom they split with last weekend. DU will also face UM-Dearborn on the road and Concordia at home over the weekend.

Around the WHAC - Every team has now played at least four conference games with most teams playing six last week. Davenport is on top at 6-0 by themselves while both Madonna and Cornerstone are 5-1 as they split their series last weekend. Three teams behind them are .500 (Aquinas, Indiana Tech and Lourdes). Three teams have over 20 wins overall led by Davenport's 23 and followed by Cornerstone and Madonna with 21 each.

Best League Start since 2011 - Davenport is off to their best WHAC start since the 2011 season when they ran off the first 12 games with wins. DU has started this season with six straight to open league action.

A Quick Look at Cornerstone - The Golden Eagles have the best overall winning percentage in the league at .875 entering the week. Head coach Jim Farrell and his squad are just one game back of the leading Panthers and will begin play on Wednesday at Davenport with the reigning WHAC Player and Pitcher of the Week in Heidi Warmelink. The standout is currently leading the conference in ERA at 0.76 and is leading her team with a .455 batting average.

A Quick Look at UM-Dearborn - The Wolves enter this week 0-6 in conference play and are just 4-25 overall. Davenport and Dearborn met earlier this season at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. with the Panthers winning 10-1 in five innings. Head coach Sarah Rotta is in her sixth year guiding the Wolves and she is led at the plate by Jessie Thueme who is batting .313. Thueme also leads the team with 14 RBI while the Wolves are led by Lindsay Colasinski on the mound with a .461 ERA. Erika Southworth leads Dearborn with 38 strikeouts.

A Quick Look at Concordia - The Cardinals got off to a great start this season by winning 12 of their first 17 games but a recent 0-6 skid has the team barely over .500 (12-11-1) entering this week. CUAA was swept by Madonna and Aquinas in their conference doubleheaders last week but second year head coach Greg Brierley has a lineup that can do some damage from the plate. Concordia boasts four of the top 11 hitters in the conference led by Kristina Butcher and Cheyenne Brierley who are batting .431. On the mound, the Cardinals are paced by Kortney Loar with a 3.46 ERA while Corrina Rotondo has a team leading 46 strikeouts.
