GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport baseball team made a second visit to the campus of Cornerstone in less than a week to make up game of their doubleheader Monday afternoon. With the weather more cooperative comparing to Tuesday's game one, the Panthers scored in all but the second inning to bring down the Golden Eagles 9-2.
Edward Grochowalski Jr. drove in two RBI using a triple and a double to lead the Panthers (29-12, 14-6 WHAC) offense.
Jotham Woo also had a two-hit day and had touched home plate twice.
Michael Clutterbuck (5-4) threw five innings of work and allowed one unearned run in the fourth. He also struck out two while allowing two hits and a walk in his outing.
Colton Satterlee took over and allowed an unearned run in the sixth.
The Panthers got on the board the first inning.

Andrew Kawam stole second and scored on Grochowalski's triple to left field. Although it got its second run in third with a walk and an error, Davenport's eventual winning run came in the fourth. Woo hit a one-out single to center and scored on
Carlos Berroa's single to left.
Davenport returns home for two nine-inning non-conference games against Northwood Wednesday and Olivet Thursday. Wednesday's contest begins at 6:30 p.m. while first pitch on Thursday is at 7 p.m.

Andrew Kawam, who had stolen base against the Golden Eagles to increase his season number to 22 bags, is five away from tying the single-season record held by Travis Laver in 2011.
