ALMA, Mich. – The victories have not been easy, but the Davenport women's lacrosse team continues to add to the win column this season.  Their latest victory came today over Alma College in overtime.  Taylor Balch came up with the winning goal in the extra stanza to give DU the 14-13 win and raise their season record to 5-4.

In this non-conference contest, the Lady Panthers got behind early as Alma scored three consecutive goals to start the game.  Davenport then answered with four of their own to take the lead.  Balch was the first to score followed by three in a row from Valerie Carr.

The first half would end in a 7-7 tie.  The back-and-forth play continued in the second half as each team converted on six goals.  With 2:31 to play, Davenport was down 13-12, but Kaitlyn Lowden found the back of the net with just one second left forcing the game into overtime.

In their first overtime game of the season, the Lady Panthers went to their leading scorer on the season and Balch was able to put her 25th goal of the year in the net giving Davenport the win.  Balch finished with four goals along with Lowden.  In addition to Carr's three first-half goals, Michon Moline added two, while Latesha Cannonier scored her first goal of the season.
