GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a thrilling shootout victory over Indiana Tech last Friday to win its first Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament championship, the 21st-ranked Davenport women's soccer team's historical season moves on to national competition as the Lady Panthers open their first NAIA Tournament match at Ashford in Clinton, Iowa, Saturday at 3 p.m. EST.

The winner of the match moves onto the second round and will face the winner of the second-seed Lindsey Wilson/Park (Mo.) match in Orange Beach, Ala., on Nov. 26.

The Lady Panthers will be making their second visit to the state of Iowa this season. In their last visit back in September, the Lady Panthers were shutout by Saint Ambrose but they bounced back the next day to beat Waldorf to begin what is now a 12-match unbeaten streak.

Ashford punched its ticket to the national tournament after beating top-seed and nationally 14th-ranked Cal State San Marcos 1-0 in the A.I.I. last weekend. Mick Regan is in his ninth season at the helm of the Saints, compiling an 81-68-11 record. Hollie Babut has been the leader of the Saints offensively, scoring 20 goals and notching six assists for 46 points. Right behind her is Chelsea Fisher, who's knocked in 12 goals and tallied a team-leading nine assists for 33 points. The goalkeeping duties have been shared between Jessica VanDyke and Jerika Castillo. Van Dyke has played a total of 817 minutes and carries a 0.77 goals-against average while her teammate Castillo has clocked in 934 minutes and has a 1.64 GAA.
