Final Week of Regular Season has Davenport Home vs. Concordia and at Marygrove

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The final week of the regular season has come for the Davenport Men's Soccer team as they have two very important league matches remaining. DU will host Concordia University on Wednesday before heading to Detroit on Saturday for the first ever meeting against Marygrove College. The Panthers are still fighting for a top-4 finish in the WHAC and secure a home playoff match in the conference tournament.
With one week to play, Davenport still has a chance to finish with a top-4 finish in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference and it starts Wednesday on Senior Day against Concordia. DU will host the Cardinals at 7pm as they honor
Jesse Asanin-Miroux and
Kevin O'Brien prior to the match. The Panthers finish off their week with a road trip to league newcomer Marygrove College on Saturday at 3pm.

The Cardinals are having one of their better seasons in their program's history as they are right around the .500 mark heading into the final week. Head coach Murali Nair, who is in his fifth season at the helm, is led by senior Brad Lyons who was earlier named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week after he scored a school record six goals in a win over Purdue Calumet in early September. Lyons lead the Cardinals with 10 goals on the season. Mikey Erickson leads the team with 89 saves as he has started each and every game for the Cardinals
A look at Marygrove – Saturday – 3pm – LIVE STATS
The Mustangs are brand new to the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference but they have posted a few very quality wins so far in their first season. Marygrove handed the WHAC leader Cornerstone their only loss in league play so far and they have gone into overtime in four other WHAC matches. The Mustangs are home against Aquinas on Wednesday before taking on the Panthers. Leading the team offensively is Jordan Berry who leads the conference in goals and is eighth in the NAIA with 17 goals.
Upon the completion of the matches on Saturday, the bracket for the WHAC Tournament will be released as the top-8 teams will get into the bracket play tournament that will determine the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. The top four teams get a home date with the higher seed then hosting until the championship match on Friday, November 9.
