ORLANDO, Fla. - The Men's Tennis team concluded their spring break trip today with a 9-0 win over Ave Maria and a 0-9 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic. The Panthers gained valuable experience and will return hom to face Calvin on March 8.
In the opening match of the day on Friday, Davenport cruised to a 9-0 win over Ave Maria University. The Panthers won every match with only one match going past the minimum requirement.
In the singles matches, DU was very impressive at #4, #5 and #6 with
Eric Pell,
Tyler Chambers and
Chris Grashorn picking up the wins while dropping on one set between them.
The doubles were also outstanding as Davenport outscored their opponent by a combined 24-8.
In the second match of the day against Palm Beach Atlantic, it was the opposite story as the home team defeated the Panthers in every match for the 9-0 win.
Davenport concludes their spring break trip with a 1-4 record in the Sunshine State and overall mark of 3-5. The Panthers take on Calvin on March 8 in their next match.
