BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - A 17-10 lead at the half was not enough as the host Falcons of Bowling Green State accounted for 36 second half unanswered points to hand DU their worst loss (46-17) in the two year history of the program. Davenport will look to rebound next Saturday when they face Miami (OH).
After a convincing win over the GR Gazelles two weeks ago, the Panthers roared out to a 17-10 halftime lead.
Peter Soukrasmy (Holland, Mich.) got the Davenport scoring started with a penalty kick and it was followed by tries from
Daniel Norris (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and
Fray Hatfield (Mishawaka, Ind.).
The Falcons were able to only post 10 points in the opening 40 minutes but that would soon change in the second half when BGSU posted 36 unanswered points to send Davenport home with their first loss of the season.
DU will face rival Miami (OH) next Saturday in Oxford, OH. Game time is set for 1:00pm.
