ADRIAN, Mich. - The Lady Panthers dropped their second league game today with 8-3 loss to Siena Heights University in game one before rebounding in game two for the 11-0 victory. Davenport is now 25-9 on the year and 4-2 in league play.

In game one Davenport got on the board first when Ali Dawson (Galesburg, Mich.) scored Karlee Despres (Belmont, Mich.) from third base after a triple from Despres. Siena Heights would answer back in the bottom of the inning with two runs of their own to go up 2-1.

The Saints would capitalize on two Panther errors in the fourth inning to push four runs across and then score two more in the fifth to push the score to 8-1.

Davenport would attempt to put together a late rally in the seventh inning but would only be able to score two runs to suffer the 8-3 loss.

Sam Cole (Belleville, Mich.) would suffer her fourth loss on the mound, giving up just one earned run in the game.

In game two the outcome would be much different as all nine Panther starters would account for a hit in the game as DU would win 11-0 in six innings.

In the third inning DU would start the scoring with five runs coming off four hits from Heather Brusokas(Glendale, Calif.), Despres, Dawson, and Sandi Seaman (St. Clair Shores, Mich.). Davenport would then explode for six more runs in the sixth inning off four hits and two Siena miscues.

Despres would earn her third win on the mound pitching six shut-out innings and giving up just three hits.

With the split today DU is now 4-2 in conference play and 25-9 overall. DU will be back in action tomorrow at the Christian Reformed Recreation Center for a 3:30pm doubleheader against Indiana Tech.
