Soto and Ouellette Lead D3 Hockey Team to 13-1 Victory Over Detroit Mercy

DETROIT, Mich. - The D3 hockey team continued its fantastic start to the 2010-2011 season with a 13-1 victory vs. Detroit Mercy.
In the first period the Panthers took the lead right from the start and looked back. DU scored seven goals with six different Panthers finding the net. Chad Ouellette (Windsor, Ontario) accounted for two of his four goals in the night in the first to give DU the 7-0 lead.
Detroit Mercy would put themselves on the board at the beginning of the second, scoring a goal just two minutes into the period. Davenport would then take charge again, scoring four additional goals by the end of the second period.
The third period would be the same story as DU added two more goals to give the Panthers the 13-1 victory. Ouellette would end the game with four goals and an assist while teammate Mike Soto (Muskegon, Mich.)would pick up eight points on the night (two goals and six assists).
Tim Davis (Grand Rapids, Mich.) would earn the victory in net for Panthers who are now 3-0 on the season.
Davenport will be back in action tonight as they take on Detroit Mercy for the second time in two days. Game time is set for 7:00pm at Patterson Ice Center.
