DEARBORN, Mich. - The women's volleyball team started and finished strong tonight as they ended their three match losing streak with a 3-1 win over UM Dearborn. Davenport won 25-16, 25-22, 16-25 and 25-19 to improve to 5-6 on the year and 1-1 in WHAC play.

After coming close in the final two sets against Aquinas on Tuesday, DU started tonight's match off with a chip on their shoulder and it carried through the end of the first set as the Panthers rolled to an opening 25-16 win.

Set two was much closer from the beginning but DU managed to put together a few good runs in the middle to pull away and ultimately win by the score of 25-22.

Down 2-0, the host Wolves came back strong to force a 4th set, but the Panthers regrouped and put together their most complete game to end the match with a 25-19 win.

Kassie Graves (White Cloud, Mich.) ended the match leading DU in kills with 13 and was followed by Ashley Penny (New Hudson, Mich.) with 9. Gina Turner (Grand Rapids, Mich.) played a solid matcg on defense leading the Panthers with 15 digs.

DU will hit the road this weekend as they travel to UT-Brownsville for three matches on Saturday and Sunday. They will then take on WHAC power Madonna University in Livonia on Tuesday.
