WLAX Wins Third Game in a Row; Defeats Albion 12-6

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - The women's lacrosse team defeated Albion 12-6 today, improving their overall record to 6-6.
In the first half the Panthers went back and forth with Albion. Kendra Stieg put in two quick goals for DU in the first five minutes of the game. Albion then answered back with two goals of their own to tie the game up at 2-2. Jessica Talcott would then add two more goals of her own, with Daniella Bugli adding one goal to complete the first half scoring for Davenport. The Panthers would go into the locker room at half time with a 5-4 lead over Albion.
Davenport came out hot in the second half shutting Albion down until the last three minutes of the game and adding seven goals of their own. Lydia Bedford and Valerie Carr each scored two goals in the half along with teammates Stieg, Jamie VandeWinkle, and Brittanie Bond each adding another goal.
The Panthers would out shoot Albion 32-17 and Shaye Bradley would hold strong in the net with eight saves.
Davenport is now 6-6 on the year and will travel to Ohio on Saturday to participate in Xavier University's Play Day.
