Panthers Fall to Saints 5-1

Grand Rapids, Mich. - With only two games remaining this season, DU traveled across town to try and upset Aquinas College but the Saints proved too tough and came away with a 5-1 victory. The loss drops DU to 4-10-1 on the season and 3-8-0 in WHAC play.
Davenport was coming off an exciting 4-3 double-overtime win on Saturday over Indiana Tech but could not carry that momentum with them as they fell behind by two goals just 26 minutes into the game. DU cut the lead to one after Brooke Guiles scored her 5th goal of the season on a pass from fellow freshman Britteny Willis.
The game went into halftime with the score of 2-1 in favor of the host Saints, but Aquinas posted three unanswered goals in the final 45 minutes for the victory.
DU managed to post 13 shots in the game but Aquinas countered with 22 of their own and Carissa Quador finished with 10 saves.
The loss drops DU to 4-10-1 on the season with one game remaining on Saturday against Siena Heights University. It will be the front end of a double-header with the men to follow at 3:00 PM. There will also be an Open House for all the public to see the new Student Center from 5-7 on Saturday night that will proceed the Men's Basketball game at 7:30 PM.
