Grand Rapids, Mich. - On Friday December 14th, 2007 the Blue Demons from DePaul University traveled from Chicago, Ill. for a two game series vs the Panthers of Davenport University. DePaul is currently ranked 9th in the central region and are coming off a big weekend against Florida Gulf Coast taking three of four possible points in the series.

Game one of the series was dominated offensively by the Panthers right from the beginning. Davenport's Jonah Rogowski opened the scoring in the first period assisted by Kevin Doyle and Bobby Collar at the 17:45 mark. Three minutes later Collar scored off the assist of Rick Gadwa and Eric Troup. The Panthers finished off the period with a late power play goal from Chris Green, assisted by Bill McSween and Bobby Collar (his third point of the period). The Panthers outshot the Blue Demons 15-6 in the first.

The second period was very similar to the first. The Panthers out shot the Blue Demons 15-8 and also outscored them 4-1 in the second Period. Justin Welker scored his first of the year off beautiful passing from Chad Anguilm and Jeff Kraemer. Will Collar got on the board scoring his third goal in three games, assisted by Jonah Rogowski and Kevin Moodie. The Panthers continued their offensive prowess as they score two late goals by Jonah Rogowski and Jeff Kraemer. "We played very well offensively but were in a little disarray defensively, stated head coach Paul Lowden. We were very fortunate DePaul did not capitalize on some very good opportunities. Chris Joswiak, in his first game back from injury was up to the challenge."

The third period was scoreless, but penalty filled, which is typical in a one-sided blowout and the referees were prepared for it. "Personally I felt the game was officiated great. Jason Goodell was in complete control, made the calls when he had to. The best referees are the ones that seem invisible during the game." stated assisted coach Jamie Bradford." The game ended in the Panthers favor 7-1.
