Defeating a cross-town rival in a conference match is always a great thing, but sweeping the season series is even better. Davenport did just that tonight as they defeated Aquinas College 3-0 (30-21, 30-24, 30-25). The win lifts DU to 10-22 on the year and 4-5 in WHAC play which places them in 5th place overall.
The win saw the Panthers offense post very consistent and spread out numbers as they were led by Autumn Williams with 9 kills, and Joyce Larioza and Amanda Schneider with eight each. The Panthers used a solid defense to limit the Saints hitters to just .088 on the night as only 25 kills were posted by the home team. DU will now travel to the U.P. for a non-conference match-up with Lake Superior State on Thursday night before traveling to Fort Wayne, IN for a conference game on Saturday afteroon with Indiana Tech.
