Oct. 4, 2007
Box Score
After coming off a tough 3-game loss to Concordia on Tuesday night, the Panthers had to travel to Adrian for a match-up with Siena Heights and after a grueling 5-game match, DU was able to come home with the victory. With the win, its third in league play, Davenport improves to 7-17 on the year and 3-4 in the WHAC.
After taking a little bit to get warmed up and dropping the first game, the Panthers responded in games two and three by winning 30-28 and 30-26. Davenport was unable to finish off the match in game four as the Saints took every shot DU gave them and forced a 5th game with a 30-26 win. Davenport then took control of the game and held off a late rally to win 15-13. The offense was very balanced for DU as four players reached double digits in kills as Autumn Williams, Helena Stieg, and Joyce Larioza all posted 11 kills each. Kayla Vandermolen was once again very consistent as she dished out 39 assists.
Davenport will be at Cornerstone University this weekend as they participate in the Golden Eagle Invitational. They will take on Judson College on Friday at 3:00 PM and then follow that up with a game at 7:00 PM vs. Grace College.
