MARQUETTE, Mich. – Davenport made the long journey up north to take on Northern Michigan in the Superior Dome. All the fans who made it to the game and watched online got quite a show. The game was neck and neck all the way until the final buzzer sounded. Unfortunately, the Panthers were on the losing side of the final score. Davenport scored two goals in the last minute of play to make it a one possession game with under 30 seconds to play.

How It Happened
The Panthers fell behind early in the game after the Wildcats outscored DU 7-1 through the opening 13 minutes of play. Davenport chipped away at the lead in the later part of the period. The Panthers scored six out of the last eight goals in the period, cutting the lead down to 9-7 in the Wildcats favor.
Davenport opened the second period with two straight goals to tie the game 9-9 with 27:58 to play in regulation. The two goals started a chain reaction of constant goal swapping by the two teams. Northern Michigan scored two goals to take a 11-9 lead, shortly after
Brenna Knoll and
Taylor Ries each scored to tie up the score 11-11. The game was tied at 12-12 and 13-13 before the Wildcats had a three goal spurt to take a 16-13 lead with 6:06 left on the game clock.
Aaliyah Miller cut the lead down to two goals with 4:01 remaining on an unassisted effort. With 1:03 to play Nothern Michigan scored their 17
th goal of the game, taking a three goal lead.
Amber Livingston and
Kenzie Warren each scored with under a minute to play to make it a one possession game. The Panthers needed another goal to tie the game, but over the last 28 seconds couldn't get a shot off.
