Panthers Defeat #11 UNOH 7-2
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The No. 16 Davenport women's tennis team got a big win over No. 11 Northwestern Ohio on Sunday by the final of 7-2 at MVP SportsPlex. The Panthers improve to 17-5 overall and 2-0 in the WHAC while UNOH is now 8-7 overall and 2-1 in the WHAC.
The Panthers won two of three in doubles and five of six in singles to claim the win. The team had five straight set wins in singles as UNOH did not take more than three games in a set.
Alyssa Fuentes beat Melena Lopez (6-2, 6-2) in one singles.
Puck Luttikhuis won 6-2, 6-2 over Valeria Popko in two singles. Those two also teamed up for an 8-3 win at one doubles over Popko and Kate Bondarenko.
Steph Ritson and
Anne Douwes beat Lopez and Ana Lacerda, 8-6, at two doubles. Ritson won 6-2, 6-2 at four singles and Douwes was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at three singles.
